Harnessing Schistosoma-associated metabolite changes in the human host to identify biomarkers of infection and morbidity: Where are we and what should we do next?

In this work, we attempted to organize the foundational work in host (metabol)omics and inform the development of better/more controlled approaches. This should also robustly feed data sets to deep learning tools aimed at ameliorating the management of (schistosome) diseases.
